Balbriggan beach is situated close to the Main Street, behind an eleven arch limestone and brick railway viaduct. There is a working fishing harbour beside the beach where trawlers enter and leave on high tides.
Balbriggan Beach is located east of Balbriggan Main Street, in close proximity to the M1 Motorway.
Dublin Bus operates the 33 from Dublin City Centre, with a bus stop on Main Street. Alternatively, Irish Rail's Balbriggan station is a 5 minute walk to the beach. If you're travelling by car, see the Google map link at the Location sidebar on the right of this page to plan your route.
Facilities include public pay and display car parking, public toilets, and a lifeguard station operational during summer months only. Lifeguards are on duty from 11 am to 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays in June and every day from July to August.
Balbriggan Beach is an identified beach under the Bathing Water Quality Regulations 2008 (SI No. 79 of 2008). The water quality is monitored regularly from mid-June to mid-September every year. Water quality results are available on the beach noticeboard and on the EPA website www.beaches.ie.
